  It is a band worn over thedress talar from the Catholic clergy.  After the liturgical reform, the use of the only belt with fringe is allowed. The end of this band is, in fact, completa of a fringe (of the same color) finely worked. Usually it is in wool or silk.

  The color of the band varies depending on the "grade" of belonging:

  • Black: for the Presbyter (priest).
  • Paonazzo: for the Monsignor and the Bishop.

  • Red tiled (sing) moiré): for the Cardinal
