The baptismal font is a tub present in baptistery or in churches: This structure is functional to the administration of Baptism, which can occur by infusion of water on the head (more widespread form in churches of Roman rite and in many churches historical Protestants) or, more in accordance with the etymology of the word, by immersion (in the churches of Eastern rite, Ambrosian rite, Baptist Church, at Jehovah’s Witnesses and at Mormons).
