The first complete summa of the whole Carmelite reality.
Title: Encyclopedic Dictionary of Spirituality Publisher: New Town Necklace: Great works Edition: 3 Publication date: 1990 December ISBN: 8831192221 ISBN-13: 9788831192224 Pages: XXIV-2738
In this Dictionary we intend to offer to the Carmelite world, and not, the main voices that make up the lexicon commonly understood in the history of the religious and spiritual family of Carmel, in its two branches (the one of the Carmelites and that of the Carmelites Scalzi or Teresiani). The work is articulated through a reference to four fundamental aspects of Carmel's life: Legal status and institutions; History and Biographies; Theology, Spirituality, Pastoral Care, Liturgy; Various themes. Each item also provides information on the origin and evolution of the body, structure and legal figure treated. A number of voices concern the fundamental legislative texts. The total entries that make up the Dictionary are 323; the Authors, all specialists and different nationalities, are 121. A systematic reading proposal, analytical index and a selected bibliography complete the work. This work fills a void in Carmelite literature: helps to become aware of the origins; to have a vision of its historical evolution; to perceive the challenges that arise in the Church and the world of today and to which to respond starting from a developed spirituality.
