They are awarded the common ferula: pastors which honorably retain the title Required and Episcopal vicars. Ferula in these roles is still in use in the field Ambrosian.
The common ferula is also a patriarchal stick for Catholics and Orthodox of Armenian rite, also used by the Orthodox of Byzantine rite.
In Ambrosian rite ferula is also used by those who preside over the Chapter of canonical, and, by particular privilege, by the individual canons when they preside in the parish church of which they bear the title.
