This volume includes a rich selection of decisions and judgments on the annulment of marriage issued by the Roman Rota in 1997. Every single case is exposed in the Latin language and according to the chronological order of emanation of the sentence. The Roman Rota, of very ancient origin, is one of the three courts of the Roman curia, constituted by the Pope to receive the appeals. It, in fact, pronounces itself on the causes already judged by ordinary courts and referred to the saint or in civil matters for the state of Vatican City. The name Rota attributed to this court derives from the circular bench around which the judges were sitting to deliberate; It was also distinguished by the attributes of sacred, to first be the tribunal of the Pope, and of Roman, to distinguish it then from all other routs established in different Italian cities.
