Vincenzo de Paoli, original name Vincent de Paul (Pouy, 24 April 1581 – 27 September 1660) was a French priest, founder and inspirational of numerous religious congregations such as the Congregation of the Mission whose members are commonly called “Lazzaristi”, the “Dame della Charity” and, shortly later, also the Daughters of Charity, of lower social extraction than the Dame. He was proclaimed saint on 16 June 1737 by Pope Clement XII. He is considered the most important reformer of the charity of the Catholic Church. SOURCE WIKIPEDIA
