Mother Teresa of Calcutta, born Anjeza Gonxhe Bojaxhiu August 26, 1910 Calcutta, September 5, 1997, was an Albanian religious of the Catholic faith, founder of thereligiouscongregationof the Missionaries of Charity . Her work among the victims of poverty in Calcutta made her one of the most famous people in the world. She has vinto the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and on October 19, 2003, she was proclaimed blessed by Pope John Paul II
