Mother Teresa of Calcutta, born Anjeza Gonxhe Bojaxhiu 26 August 1910 Calcutta, 5 September 1997, was an Albanian religious of Catholic faith, foundress of the withreligious gregation of the Missionaries of Charity. Her work among the victims of poverty of Calcutta has made her one of the most famous people in the world. She wonthe Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and on 19 October 2003 she was beatified by Pope John Paul II.
